The Closing Concert of the 2020 Brussels Cello Festival will feature all the cellists of the festival together on stage with the student participants for a celebration of peace and humanity. The Belgium Cello Society is honored to collaborate with the United Nations and the Fundacio Pau Casals to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the legacy of the Pau Casals Orchestra as well as the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
We have commissioned several cello ensemble arrangements for their WORLD PREMIERE in this spectacular concert: Pau Casals Hymn to the United Nations, Beethoven Symphony No. 5, Mahler Adagietto, and many more! We are also excited to have the support of the Servais Society in presenting the cello quintet arrangement of Servais’ Souvenir de Spa this afternoon.
Due to COVID regulations, this program will be presented twice this afternoon (without intermission), at 15:00 and again at 18:00.
