🎵 Cello Extravaganza: An Evening with Queen Elisabeth’s Virtuosos! 🎵

 Join us for a spectacular Opening Night with four of the world’s most captivating cellists—Marie Hallynck and Natalie Clein, two esteemed jurors of the Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition; Aleksey Shadrin, acclaimed for his powerful interpretations; and Korean superstar Sul Yoon – all in partnership with the brilliant Malibran Ensemble. Supported by the Servais VZW, this unique concert brings together these incredible talents to explore some of the most exciting works by iconic cellist-composers of the 18th and 19th centuries.

 The program features François Servais' sparkling La Fille du régiment, Op. 16 performed by Sul Yoon, a virtuosic fantasy based on Donizetti's famous opera. Marie Hallynck takes center stage with Luigi Boccherini's dynamic String Quintet in D minor, a piece brimming with lyrical elegance and technical brilliance. Natalie Clein will enchant with Boccherini's beloved Cello Concerto No. 7 in G major, celebrated for its graceful melodies and lively spirit. The program continues with Aleksey Shadrin performing Servais' emotive Fantaisie sur deux Airs Russes, a work that combines Russian folk themes with dazzling virtuosity. The evening concludes with a heartfelt rendition of Wilhelm Fitzenhagen's Ave Maria, bringing all four cellists together for a truly sublime finale.
