🎵 Baroque Brilliance: The Pioneers! 🎵

Step into a world of Baroque splendor with Roel Dieltiens, a virtuoso of the cello known for his expressive depth and technical mastery, accompanied by the renowned Romek Maniewski on continuo and Bart Naessens on organ and cembalo. Together, they bring to life a rich and varied program that explores the full range of the Baroque cellist-composers in the magnificent setting of the Église Notre-Dame de la Cambre.

The concert opens with Domenico Gabrielli’s Ricercar 7, showcasing the cello’s profound voice in solo form. This is followed by Gabrielli's spirited Sonatas in G and A major for cello and basso continuo, and a delicate Canon for two cellos. From the elegant lines of Giovanni Battista Bononcini’s Sonata in A minor to the daring Capriccios by Joseph Dall'Abaco, each piece paints a vivid picture of the Baroque era's emotional range and instrumental virtuosity. The program continues with Luigi Boccherini’s intricate Fugues for Two Cellos, concluding with the lyrical and energetic Sonata in A minor by Willem De Fesch.
